Did you know just how many Snickers/Mars Bars/Caramel-coated thingies and other gobsmacking sticky junkies i have passed over the couple of months?
*rounds of applause, please*
The quad helix, the one i have been wearing since January, will no longer be part of me come May. That’s 4 months, as expected. Now that there are gaps already forming on my upper teeth, it’s time to bond brackets and go on SimpliClear braces for the top!
Definitely can’t wait to progress with my treatment!

SO - I experienced my FIRST wire breakage while on braces.
Basically, my wire broke on the right molar region last few nights while i was happily eating this:
No thanks to my evident greed, i had a small section of the wire chomped off while chewing my food. I do have to say that this is my fault for not watching what i am NOT supposed to eat (i.e hard stuff, sticky stuff etc) but the LJS chicken batter was too good to resist! =D
Anyway, to put worries at bay - the important thing to note is that wire breakage is perfectly normal. Doesn’t matter be it metal braces, or even SimpliClear, wires will break in situations. DO NOT PANIC. Simply call your orthodontist for an appointment to arrange for a wire change. That was what i did the very next day.
Just so you know, here’s a broken section of my wire when i manage to pluck it out from my mouth and brackets.
And so, life with braces goes on.
It was a really awesome Sunday date with a lovely girl! A quick dinner at Thai Express, and we were ready to go for Wicked at MBS. Mucha gracias deltamonolux, if you’re reading this that is!

HAHAHAHA! This is really a funny one.
Anyway, what i HAVE NOT realised before is… while having braces, there will come a time when all your teeth will go wonky and move in different manners; all in the name of space creation. The result?
JUST REALLY BAD, UGLY TEETH.
You have to understand, i do have a perfect set of teeth on my left side, so having to watch them move out of a perfect position into something less..attractive.. do make me worry about my treatment progress.
I keep having to tell myself that all these are ultimately going to be a temporary phase, until my orthodontist gets all of them into perfect alignment. :)

I had a bagel with cream cheese and jam one morning…
I sank my teeth into the semi-hard dough and…
MY LOWER TEETH SHIFTED SLIGHTLY.
Lesson learnt: Never attempt to bite into a bagel with braces on.
